1,198 Nominations Filed in Phase One

A total of 1,198 nominations were filed for 121 seats in the first phase of Bihar Elections 2025. Papers came from 18 districts. Health Minister Mangal Pandey filed from Siwan. Folk singers Khesari Lal Yadav and Maithili Thakur entered from Chapra and Alinagar. Deepa Manjhi, daughter-in-law of Jitan Ram Manjhi, filed from Imamnagar.

The Election Commission confirmed the total by Friday evening. Scrutiny is on October 18, and withdrawals close on October 20. The next phase will cover 122 seats in 20 districts.

Congress candidate Rishi Mishra, grandson of Lalit Narayan Mishra, filed from Jale. Other Congress and CPI candidates also joined. The highest count of 20 nominations came from Mahnar, followed by Mahua and Barauli.

The growing list shows rising political energy across Bihar. Every major party is preparing hard for this crucial contest of Bihar Elections 2025.
