In Bihar, AIMIM candidate Kalamuddin suffered a heart attack while in police custody. The incident took place soon after he filed his nomination for the Jehanabad Assembly seat. Police arrested him due to an outstanding warrant in a case of attempted murder. While being held at the Sadar police station, AIMIM candidate Kalamuddin’s health deteriorated, prompting officials to rush him to Sadar Hospital.
Doctors at Sadar Hospital referred him to PMCH Patna for advanced treatment as his condition turned critical. Kalamuddin, a former Deputy Chief Councilor of Jehanabad Municipal Council, had earlier been active in local politics and recently joined Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM.
Locals gathered outside the hospital upon hearing the news, demanding a fair inquiry into the incident. Police Officer Rahul Kumar confirmed Kalamuddin’s arrest and said legal action followed court orders. Meanwhile, discussions continue about the timing of the arrest during the Bihar election season.
The AIMIM leadership has not yet issued an official statement on his health condition. The situation remains tense in Jehanabad as supporters pray for his recovery.
