Austria has teamed up with Indian institutions to offer advanced engineering programs for students aiming to study abroad. The partnership, announced by Austrian Ambassador Katharina Wieser and Joint Secretary Armstrong Pame, connects top Austrian universities with VFS Educational Services to provide Master’s degrees in AI, robotics, sustainable technologies, and more.

The program links TU Wien, TU Graz, and TU Leoben with Indian colleges recognised in the ANABIN database. Students can pursue two-year Master’s courses in fields like computer science, biotechnology, metallurgy, and circular engineering.

Ambassador Wieser stressed that Austria combines high-quality education with affordability. Tuition costs just €726.72 per semester, plus a small union fee. Students cover accommodation, travel, and visa expenses themselves. The country’s strong industry-research network in engineering, AI, and quantum mechanics makes it an attractive choice for STEM students.

Indian students from IITs, NITs, and other top colleges can apply. Applicants need a BE, BTech, or BSc (Hons) with a minimum grade of 2.5 on the Austrian scale and strong English skills. Applications go through VFS Education Services. With over 300 Master’s seats and 15 Bachelor’s seats available, competition is expected to be high. Students can also work part-time and get a one-year post-study visa extension.
