Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh accused the BJP-led Union Government of “being chatur (clever)” in handling Navneet Chaturvedi’s forgery case. Speaking in Ropar alongside AAP MLA Dinesh Chadha, he said the AAP government under CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has zero tolerance towards corruption, but the law must be equal for all. He alleged that the BJP was manipulating the case to its advantage instead of upholding justice.
Balbir Singh also criticized the BJP for double standards, saying corruption charges disappear once accused leaders join the party. He questioned why massive drug seizures from Gujarat ports were never blamed on its government.
On the upcoming 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur at Anandpur Sahib, he urged the SGPC to join the event, calling it a “global Sikh gathering.” The state government plans to invite Punjabis worldwide, along with the President, Prime Minister, and state heads for the occasion.
