Bihar Administrative Service transfers have brought important changes in the Nitish Kumar government, creating fresh buzz in administrative circles. The state government has assigned new responsibilities to four senior BAS officers, affecting major departments.
Bihar Administrative Service transfers include the movement of Aditya Kumar Jha, who earlier served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Finance Department. He has now been shifted to the Home Department as OSD. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary currently holds charge of the Home Department. Aditya Jha earlier worked closely with him during his tenure in Finance.
Another key move involves Buxar settlement officer Sunil Kumar. He has been transferred and attached to the Cabinet Coordination Department. He will serve as Private Secretary (Government) to the Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources.
Two officers from BPRS have also been sent on deputation to Delhi civic bodies. Sanjay Singh will continue as Additional Deputy Commissioner in the Delhi Municipal Corporation. His deputation has been extended from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.
Meanwhile, Megha Kashyap, Deputy Collector (Land Reforms) in Mahnar, Vaishali, has been sent to the New Delhi Municipal Council. She will serve as Joint Director on deputatio
