Congress leader Pawan Khera has stirred controversy in Bihar with a strong remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking in Patna, he said Nitish Kumar should hold a gun to the Prime Minister’s temple and declare himself the chief ministerial face. His words sparked outrage from BJP and JDU leaders, who called the statement dangerous and unacceptable.
PM Modi had earlier accused RJD of having a “culture of guns and kidnappings.” He also said RJD made Tejashwi Yadav the CM face by pressuring Congress. Responding, Khera said Modi understands only the language of power and control. He mentioned Gujarat’s past incidents involving Keshubhai Patel and Haren Pandya, claiming that such politics cannot continue.
Khera, who heads Congress’s media and publicity department, predicted that the Grand Alliance would win 72 of the 121 seats in phase one. He said unemployment, migration, and anti-government anger are dominating voter sentiment.
He also accused Home Minister Amit Shah of holding secret meetings at a hotel where CCTV cameras were turned off. Khera demanded an inquiry into the matter. He added that after the first phase, state officials no longer fear pressure from NDA leaders.
