The Meteorological Department warned that fog will stay through the early hours in many districts. People felt strong chill, especially before sunrise, and many wrapped up in warm clothes. Fog lifted a bit later in the day, but skies remained mostly cloudy.
Train services faced major delays, with some trains arriving hours late at Patna Junction. Several flights were also canceled due to poor visibility, adding to passenger woes.
Officials said the cold wave may continue for the next few days with little change expected in maximum and minimum temperatures. Most districts are likely to see similar cold and foggy conditions, with early morning fog persisting. Residents are advised to allow extra time when traveling and stay warm during early hours.
