A shocking case unfolded in Bihar as BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal received two death threat calls demanding ₹10 crore in ransom. The police swiftly acted and solved the case within a day. The key accused was traced through a stolen mobile phone used to make the calls.
The Bettiah police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under Superintendent Shaurya Suman, who confirmed the arrest of the accused, Ashok. The mobile phone and SIM card were recovered, though attempts were made to destroy them. Jaiswal, the former Bihar BJP president, had filed a complaint soon after receiving the calls.
The accused allegedly demanded ₹10 crore and threatened to kill Jaiswal’s son if the demand was not met. The investigation revealed that the phone used for the call had been stolen three months ago.
