BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal from Bettiah, Bihar, has reportedly received death threats and a ransom demand of ₹10 crore. The caller warned that his doctor son would be killed if the money was not paid. Jaiswal received two calls on October 23 around 12:40 p.m. and 12:44 p.m. from different mobile numbers.
After the threat, he filed a police complaint, and an FIR was registered. SDPO Vivekdeep confirmed that a special team has begun an investigation. Police have received the call recordings and are tracing the phone numbers. The officers assured that the culprits would soon be caught. The shocking incident has caused concern in Bettiah and raised questions about the safety of public representatives.
