Democrats on Wednesday released emails from Jeffrey Epstein suggesting that US President Donald Trump was aware of Epstein’s sexual abuse activities. The emails, shared with Ghislaine Maxwell and author Michael Wolff, have reignited political tensions months after the Trump administration closed the Epstein case.
One email dated April 2011 shows Epstein writing, “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump.” He added that one victim “spent hours at my house with him,” noting that Trump “has never once been mentioned.” Maxwell replied, “I have been thinking about that.”
In another email from January 2019, Epstein told Wolff, “Trump said he asked me to resign… of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee said the messages “raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes.”
Trump has denied any involvement with Epstein’s sex-trafficking operations. The White House dismissed the release as politically motivated, calling it a “fake narrative.” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Democrats had “selectively leaked emails to smear President Trump” ahead of the upcoming congressional session.
