Google AI Hub Visakhapatnam

New Delhi: Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced a major plan to build a massive AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh — Google’s largest artificial intelligence base outside the United States. The tech giant will invest $15 billion in India over the next five years in partnership with the Adani Group.

Pichai called the project a “landmark development”, combining gigawatt-scale computing power, a new subsea data link, and strong energy infrastructure. He said the hub will help boost AI innovation and digital growth across India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the move, calling it a big step toward building a “Viksit Bharat.” He said the project will bring “AI for All,” empowering citizens and strengthening India’s digital economy.

Google stated that the plan supports the government’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and will create major opportunities for both India and the United States.

At the signing event in Delhi, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the Visakhapatnam AI hub will “drive inclusive growth” and “enable businesses to innovate faster.” Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu added that the hub marks a “new chapter” in India’s digital journey.
