The Indian Navy will host a seminar on Thursday to address cyber threats in the maritime sector. Titled ‘Impact of Cyber Attacks on Maritime Sector and Its Effects on National Security and International Relations,’ the event aims to strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders.
Minister of State for IT, Jitin Prasada, will deliver the keynote address. Panel discussions will feature experts from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, MoPNG, NSCS, GAIL, DGH, CERT-In, NCIIPC, NMF, and private sector leaders.
Topics include global cyber threats, civil-military partnerships, and maritime infrastructure as critical information. The seminar supports the Prime Minister’s MAHASAGAR vision, promoting secure, indigenous digital systems and robust public-private partnerships.
A tech exhibition organised with the Data Security Council of India will showcase homegrown innovations in cybersecurity and defence technology. The event aligns with ‘Maritime India Vision 2030’ and ‘Amrit Kaal Vision 2047,’ highlighting cybersecurity as vital for port-led growth, smart logistics, offshore energy, and naval operations.
