The slogan “I Love Mohammad” has sparked heated debate in Bihar politics. Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi strongly objected to the posters carrying this slogan. He said that while the Constitution allows freedom to practice and propagate religion, anything that creates harm or communal tension is wrong.
The controversy began in Uttar Pradesh and soon spread to Bihar. In response to these posters, some groups put up “I Love Shakti” banners. Manjhi appealed to stop this practice, warning that using religion in such a way divides society. He stressed that whether one follows Mohammad, Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, or anyone else, paths to God should not be turned into communal slogans.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh also reacted strongly, saying that such posters create dangerous situations. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, however, defended the slogan, questioning why expressions of love are being opposed.
The “I Love Mohammad” row continues to stir protests, reflecting the rising tension between communities and parties in Bihar.
