The Bihar Elections 2025 have entered a crucial phase as today marks the last day for filing nominations for the second phase. The Grand Alliance faces internal tensions with Congress and CPI both contesting the Kargahar seat, showing weak coordination. Congress has renominated MLA Santosh Mishra, while CPI has fielded Mahendra Gupta.
In a major political twist, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), announced it will not contest the Bihar elections. Earlier, it had planned to fight from six seats. This move comes as a relief for RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, strengthening his position in the alliance.
Meanwhile, Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh’s wife, Jyoti Singh, entered politics as an independent candidate from the Karakat Assembly seat. She declared herself a “separated woman” in her affidavit, owning assets worth ₹18.8 lakh.
Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram filed his nomination from Kutumba for the third time, expressing confidence in development politics. The RJD’s decision not to field a candidate there also benefits the Congress.
Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM released its first list of 25 candidates, including two non-Muslims. Bihar Elections 2025 continue to shape into an unpredictable political contest.
