Lalganj Seat Issue Settled, Congress Steps Back for Grand Alliance Unity

Lalganj seat issue, Congress withdraws, Shivani Shukla candidate, Vaishali politics

The Lalganj seat issue in Bihar’s Vaishali district has finally been settled. Earlier, both the Congress and the RJD had fielded their candidates, creating tension within the Grand Alliance. The Congress candidate, Aditya Kumar Raja, has now withdrawn his nomination to maintain unity in the alliance. Following his decision, RJD’s Shivani Shukla, daughter of former leader Munna Shukla, becomes the joint candidate of the Grand Alliance.

Aditya Raja said he withdrew not under pressure, but to uphold the alliance’s democratic spirit. District Election Officer Varsha Singh confirmed his withdrawal. Meanwhile, BJP has fielded Sanjay Singh for the same seat. Shivani Shukla is actively connecting with local voters. Her father Munna Shukla earlier won from Hajipur Jail as an independent, and later as a JDU member, while her mother also served as MLA from the same area.
