A serious microphone malfunction disrupted Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s address in the Bihar Assembly on Wednesday. The microphone malfunction began with strange clicking sounds and soon the device stopped working completely. This created confusion in the House, as MLAs complained that their voices were not audible. Opposition members also started raising objections, adding to the chaos.
Speaker Prem Kumar reacted strongly to the incident. He summoned senior officials from the Nitish Kumar government and ordered an investigation within 24 hours. He instructed the Building Construction Department to find those responsible and take strict action. He also demanded a detailed report within a day.
The Speaker said that no carelessness in Assembly arrangements would be tolerated. Earlier, he held a review meeting and directed the Secretary-in-Charge to identify the officials behind the lapse and ensure strict punishment.
Despite the repeated disruptions, Governor Khan continued speaking. He even asked the officials to turn off the microphone and said he would finish the address without it. After several interruptions, he finally managed to complete his speech.
