MP LAD Fund Row Escalates after Congress MP Sanjana Jatav accused BJP MPs of allocating development funds outside their states. Her remarks came after BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya accused Congress MPs of diverting MP LAD funds beyond constituencies. Jatav said BJP leaders followed the same practice.

She claimed that Union Minister and Rajasthan Rajya Sabha MP Ravneet Singh Bittu recommended MP LAD funds for projects in Punjab. She named Jalandhar, Amritsar, and Karnal as beneficiary areas. Jatav also alleged that MPs Rajendra Gehlot and Chunnilal Garasiya spent funds in Uttar Pradesh.

Chunnilal Garasiya acknowledged recommending funds outside Rajasthan. He said MPs can suggest up to ₹50 lakh annually for works in other states. He added that such recommendations support public welfare and follow existing rules. Rajendra Gehlot could not be reached for comment.

Jatav also defended her party by citing Congress leader Randeep Surjewala. She said Surjewala sanctioned ₹1 crore for development in Bharatpur. However, critics noted that Surjewala represents Rajasthan in the Rajya Sabha. That allows him to fund projects anywhere within the state.

Amid the controversy, Jatav and MP Rahul Kaswan cited revised guidelines. They said the Centre amended MP LAD rules on August 13, 2024. The change raised the outside-state funding limit to ₹50 lakh per year.
