PM Modi Opens Mumbai Cruise Terminal

Mumbai International Cruise Terminal opened by PM Modi. India’s largest terminal to handle 1M passengers and boost cruise tourism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT) at Ballard Pier today. The project was developed under the “Cruise Bharat Mission.”The state-of-the-art facility is India’s largest cruise terminal. It covers 415,000 square feet and can manage one million passengers each year. Up to five cruise ships can dock at the same time.

The terminal has 72 check-in and immigration counters. It is designed to provide smooth and efficient travel for domestic and international passengers. Officials expect the new hub to enhance India’s maritime infrastructure.Along with the terminal, several projects were also launched. These include the renovated Fire Memorial at Victoria Docks, heritage lighting at Port House and Evelyn House, and the Sagar Upvan garden.

Authorities said these initiatives will promote cultural tourism and environmental sustainability. They are expected to improve both visitor experience and the city’s heritage value.MICT is set to boost India’s cruise tourism sector. It aims to attract global cruise lines and expand opportunities for the hospitality industry. Experts believe the terminal will contribute significantly to economic growth and position Mumbai as a premier cruise destination.
