NDA vs Grand Alliance in Battle for 121 Seats

Bihar Elections 2025, NDA vs Grand Alliance, Bihar 121 seats phase 1 results, Bihar political battle

In the first phase of the Bihar Elections 2025, 121 assembly seats are witnessing a fierce contest between the NDA and the Grand Alliance. Both coalitions are making intense efforts to protect their existing seats and win new ones. In the 2020 elections, the NDA had won 59 of these seats, while the Grand Alliance secured 61 — showing how close the battle has always been.

Back then, the BJP took 32 seats, JDU 23, and VIP four. On the other side, the RJD bagged 42, Congress eight, CPI (ML) seven, CPI (M) two, and CPI two. The LJP, which had won one seat, later saw its MLA join the JDU. This phase remains crucial as several key constituencies fall under it, including Saharsa, Darbhanga, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, and Patna Sahib.

With Prashant Kishor’s re-entry into Bihar politics, the political landscape is getting even more unpredictable. Both alliances are revising their campaign strategies and candidate lists to gain an edge. The outcome of these 121 seats could determine the direction of Bihar’s political future and set the tone for the next phase of the elections.
