Patna High Court upholds life sentence for Manoj Manzil

The Patna High Court upheld the life sentence of CPI(ML) leader Manoj Manzil and 22 others. The case was related to the 2015 Ara Bargaon murder.

The court rejected their appeals and ordered them to surrender within a week. It also cancelled their bail. The judges, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad and Ajit Kumar, confirmed the earlier verdict of the Ara MP-MLA court.

According to the case, JP Singh was attacked with sticks and stones after a party meeting. He died on the spot. All the accused were sentenced to life imprisonment and fined ₹10,000 each.

CPI(ML) State Secretary Kunal called the decision unfair and politically driven. He said they would move the Supreme Court. He urged the people of Bihar and Bhojpur to fight for justice in the next elections.
