Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the NDA’s victory after Bihar witnessed a record voter turnout in the first phase of Assembly elections. Addressing a rally in Sitamarhi on Saturday, Modi said Bihar’s youth and women have chosen the NDA, delivering a “65-volt shock” to the opposition.
He targeted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, accusing them of promoting lawlessness. Modi claimed RJD songs were influencing children toward crime. “Bihar’s children will become doctors, engineers, and judges, not gangsters,” he said. He added that RJD leaders dream of making their own children ministers while turning others’ children into criminals.
Modi praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for restoring Bihar’s lost trust. He said investors are returning, factories are reopening, and roads and railways are improving. The Riga Sugar Mill has resumed operations, and new factories will soon open across the state.
The second phase of polling will be held on November 11 across 20 districts. The first phase, held on November 6, recorded 65.08 percent voting — the highest in Bihar’s history. Vote counting is scheduled for November 14.
