Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to late Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia on her birth anniversary. He praised her role in strengthening the Jana Sangh and founding the BJP. Vijayaraje Scindia was born in 1919 in present-day Madhya Pradesh and married the last Maharaja of Gwalior, Jiwajirao Scindia.
PM Modi shared a video highlighting her contributions to India’s independence movement. He said she dedicated her life to public service and worked to preserve cultural roots. “Her dream was a strong and progressive India. We will fulfil it through Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” he stated.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recalled her dedication to public welfare. He described her as a blend of simplicity, affection, and maternal love. Chouhan said her leadership inspired generations and strengthened the BJP in Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also paid tribute, calling her a “symbol of sacrifice, compassion, and dedication.” He added that her vision and work for the nation would continue to inspire future leaders.
