Police officer beaten in Bihar Muzaffarpur after a violent clash broke out during a dispute over fishing rights in a village pond. The incident took place in Basant village under Katra police station area and was captured on video, which later surfaced online.

Sub-Inspector Shrikant Singh reached the spot after receiving information about a clash between two local groups. One group supported the village sarpanch, while the other claimed legal fishing rights in the pond. The argument soon turned aggressive as the police team tried to control the crowd.

During the intervention, the sarpanch and his supporters allegedly attacked the police officer. They pushed, hit, and abused him in full public view. The police officer beaten in Bihar Muzaffarpur suffered injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

More police forces arrived soon and brought the situation under control. Senior Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar strongly condemned the attack and ordered immediate action against those involved.

Police registered an FIR against the sarpanch and several supporters. Raids are underway to arrest the accused. Officials said such attacks on police personnel will not be tolerated, and strict legal action will follow.
