Protest Erupts at IDA Bollaram Over Lack of RTC Buses

IDA Bollaram RTC protest highlights commuters’ demand for better bus services and transport connectivity in Hyderabad.

Students and local residents held a protest at IDA Bollaram on Thursday, blocking the main road to demand more RTC bus services. They urged the authorities to increase the number of buses to meet their daily travel needs. The protest began early in the morning and quickly drew attention from commuters and nearby shop owners.

Many students complained about missing classes due to the lack of frequent bus services. They said reaching schools and colleges on time had become a daily struggle. Industrial workers from nearby factories also voiced frustration, saying the shortage of buses caused delays and increased travel expenses.

Local residents added that despite repeated requests, no action had been taken by RTC officials. They pointed out that IDA Bollaram, being an industrial area, required stronger connectivity to key parts of Hyderabad and its suburbs. Several regular commuters joined the demonstration to support the demand for better transport facilities.

Police arrived at the scene and urged the protesters to disperse peacefully. They assured that the issue would be discussed with RTC authorities soon. The roadblock caused a brief traffic jam, but normal movement resumed once the protest ended.
