Rahul Gandhi Dalit Muslim Deputy CMs plan has created a new buzz in Bihar politics. MP Pappu Yadav said that if the INDIA Alliance forms the government, Rahul Gandhi will appoint one Dalit and one Muslim as Deputy Chief Ministers. He said this shows the Congress Party’s belief in fair representation.
Recently, Tejashwi Yadav became the Chief Minister candidate, and Mukesh Sahni from the VIP party was named Deputy CM. Many groups, including AIMIM, questioned why a Muslim leader was not selected. Muslims form 18% of Bihar’s population, while Sahni’s community has only 2%. Critics said both groups deserve equal chances.
To avoid vote division, the Grand Alliance delayed the second Deputy CM announcement. Pappu Yadav also reminded that Rajiv Gandhi wanted Tariq Anwar as CM, and Indira Gandhi made Bhola Paswan Shastri and Abdul Gafur Chief Ministers. Rahul Gandhi Dalit Muslim Deputy CMs idea continues this inclusive tradition.
