Defense Minister Rajnath Singh confirmed that Nitish Kumar will lead the NDA in the 2025 Bihar elections. Speaking to News18, he said, “The NDA is contesting under Nitish Kumar’s leadership. Naturally, he will become the Chief Minister after the elections.”
Rajnath predicted a strong performance for the NDA. He said the alliance would win more than 160 of Bihar’s 243 seats. He pointed to the excitement at NDA rallies as proof of growing public support.
He dismissed Prashant Kishor’s impact, saying the Jan Suraj Party will not win a single seat. Rajnath also mentioned that the BJP’s new national president would likely be named after the Bihar elections.
He clarified that the RSS does not interfere in BJP’s politics. On the issue of Deputy Chief Ministers from the BJP and LJP (Ram Vilas), he said the final decision would come through consensus.
Rajnath added that women feel safer under Nitish Kumar’s rule. He contrasted this with the law and order situation during RJD’s tenure, reinforcing NDA’s message of stability and security.
