Red Fort Blast

World leaders mourned the deaths after a car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort killed nine people and injured over 20. The explosion erupted near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, setting cars ablaze and shattering nearby windows.

The US Embassy expressed condolences and warned its citizens to stay away from crowded areas. It also issued a security alert, saying several Indian states were now on high alert.

British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron and French Ambassador Thierry Mathou sent heartfelt messages, offering support to victims’ families. Argentina’s envoy Mariano Caucino and diplomats from Australia, Iran, Sri Lanka, and Morocco also expressed solidarity with India.

Home Minister Amit Shah said investigators were exploring all possibilities, including a terror link. He confirmed that CCTV footage from the area would play a key role in the probe.

Security was tightened across Delhi, especially at metro stations, airports, and government offices. Images from the scene showed burning vehicles and thick smoke rising near the Red Fort. Firefighters and police rushed to the site, rescuing the injured and clearing debris.

The government assured citizens that a full investigation was underway to bring those responsible to justice.
