The rift in Upendra Kushwaha RLM has intensified political tension in Bihar. The RJD has alleged that the BJP is behind the internal conflict and wants to remove Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from power. Party leaders say the BJP is trying to weaken its allies to gain full control of the state.
RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari claimed the BJP follows a pattern of breaking regional parties after using them. He said the same strategy is now being applied in Bihar to sideline Nitish Kumar.
The crisis began inside Rashtriya Lok Morcha after Upendra Kushwaha appointed his son, Deepak Prakash, as a minister. Three of the party’s four MLAs expressed strong dissatisfaction. They reportedly felt ignored and skipped a recent party program in protest.
The rebel MLAs argued that leadership positions should go to elected representatives. They warned that family-based decisions could damage the party’s credibility among voters.
Political observers believe the issue has gone beyond an internal dispute. The opposition says the BJP wants to destabilize Nitish Kumar’s government before upcoming elections.
As the rift in Upendra Kushwaha RLM deepens, Bihar’s political equations appear increasingly fragile.
