RJD questions why Sanjay Jha and Jitan Ram Manjhi houses not vacated despite clear rules on government accommodation in Bihar. The party has written to the state Building Construction Department seeking an explanation for the continued occupation of official bungalows in Patna.
In its letter, the Rashtriya Janata Dal said senior leaders are enjoying government housing even after getting official residences in New Delhi. The party named JD(U) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha and Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi in its complaint.
RJD leaders said Sanjay Jha already has a government residence in the national capital. Despite this, he continues to stay in a bungalow from Bihar’s central pool. The party asked why the bungalow has not been vacated so far.
The letter also raised questions about Jitan Ram Manjhi’s stay in a Patna government bungalow. RJD demanded details on the rules that allow him to keep the house and the rent being paid for it.
RJD urged the department to act without delay and ensure fair use of government property. The issue has once again brought focus on the misuse of official accommodation in Bihar politics.
