RPF Nabs Four ‘Haryana Gang’ Members Who Stole Jewellery Worth ₹50 Lakh

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested four members of the so-called ‘Haryana Gang’ accused of stealing jewellery worth ₹50 lakh from passengers aboard the Chennai–Mangaluru Mail in Kerala. The coordinated operation was launched after a passenger reported missing valuables, prompting RPF teams across multiple divisions to track the suspects’ movements.
Based on intelligence inputs, the accused were traced to the Mangaluru–Mumbai Matsyagandha Express. RPF personnel intercepted the train at Madgaon, where the suspects were detained without incident. Upon inspection, officers recovered a significant portion of the stolen jewellery.
Officials said the gang is known for targeting long-distance trains and operating swiftly across state borders, making coordinated surveillance essential. The accused have been handed over to Kerala Police for further investigation. The RPF has urged passengers to remain vigilant and make use of its helplines for timely reporting of suspicious activity, which proved crucial in cracking this case.
