Business tycoon and Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, died of a heart attack during a polo match in England on June 12. Since then, the Sunjay Kapur succession battle over his Rs 30,000-crore estate has turned bitter, pulling in his widow Priya Sachdev, ex-wife Karisma Kapoor, and his four children.

The feud reached the Delhi High Court after Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, accused Priya Sachdev of forging a will dated March 21. They alleged the will attempted to disown them from their rightful share of Sunjay Kapur’s property.

Samaira, born in 2005, studies at Tufts University in the US, while Kiaan, 15, lives in Mumbai with Karisma. Reports say Sunjay secured bonds worth Rs 14 crore for both and arranged a monthly income of Rs 10 lakh each after the 2016 divorce.

Priya Sachdev’s daughter from her first marriage, Safira, whom Sunjay adopted, also features in the estate debate. Safira, now studying in the UK, recently changed her surname to Kapur. Priya and Sunjay’s son Azarias, born in 2018, is also a direct heir.

The Delhi High Court has asked Priya Sachdev to disclose all assets as of June 12. The case will be heard on October 9.
