Suspended Policemen Reinstated to Maintain Law and Order

Bihar Elections suspended policemen reinstated for duty

During the Bihar Elections suspended policemen issue, the police headquarters decided to temporarily lift suspensions for several officers and soldiers. This move was made because a large force was needed to maintain law and order during the elections. Suspended policemen may now get a chance to return to duty, although departmental inquiries will continue for those under investigation.

Senior police officers will review each case carefully before releasing anyone from suspension. The relief applies to constables, head constables, ASIs, SIs, and inspectors. However, those facing serious charges will not be cleared without review. This decision aims to fill manpower gaps as elections are held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with vote counting on November 14.

The police headquarters clarified that even after being reinstated, the officers will still face departmental actions if found guilty. This decision benefits both the department and officers, ensuring order during the election period while offering a second chance for many.
