JJD chief Tej Pratap Yadav announced that he will organise a Tej Pratap dahi chuda bhoj on Makar Sankranti in Patna. The traditional feast will take place on January 14 and aims to celebrate Bihar’s culture while sending a message of political unity.
Tej Pratap said he plans to invite leaders from across the political spectrum. The guest list will include Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, both Deputy Chief Ministers, and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav. He said festivals should unite people beyond party lines.
The JJD leader added that the event is not political but cultural. He wants people to remember Bihar’s traditions and come together during the harvest festival. Dahi chuda is a popular dish eaten in Bihar on Makar Sankranti.
During his interaction with the media, Tej Pratap also reacted strongly to a controversial remark made about Bihari women by a minister’s husband from Uttarakhand. He called the statement insulting and demanded strict action.
Tej Pratap has remained active in state politics since forming the Jan Shakti Janata Dal. With this Makar Sankranti feast, he hopes to strengthen dialogue and goodwill among Bihar’s top leaders.
