Tej Pratap Yadav Expels JJD Candidate for Backing Grand Alliance

Tej Pratap Yadav expels JJD

Bihar’s political scene heated up as Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav removed party candidate Shyam Kishore Chaudhary for defying party rules. Chaudhary, contesting from Supaul (Constituency No. 11) in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, reportedly sought support from the Grand Alliance without the JJD leadership’s consent.

Tej Pratap shared a detailed post on Instagram explaining the incident. He said Chaudhary acted without informing the central committee or the party’s top leaders. According to him, the move directly violated the JJD’s constitution and guiding principles.

After an internal review, the party’s Central Committee found Chaudhary’s actions against JJD’s ideology. The committee decided that his conduct was unacceptable and against party discipline.

Tej Pratap confirmed that the party had already sent a formal complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer in Patna. The letter demanded cancellation of Chaudhary’s nomination for breaching party rules.

Yadav made it clear that JJD would not tolerate such behavior. “We are removing Shyam Kishore Chaudhary from all positions, including his candidacy,” he stated.

The move underlines rising internal tensions within smaller parties ahead of the Bihar elections.
