Renowned poet, writer, and Telangana’s state anthem lyricist Andesri passed away suddenly at the age of 64 on Sunday. According to his family, he collapsed at his residence in the morning. They rushed him to Gandhi Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. The news shocked the Telugu literary community.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep grief over Andesri’s sudden demise. He recalled his close association with the poet and praised his immense contribution to Telangana’s cultural identity.
Revanth Reddy said the government, after coming to power, had worked with Andesri to redesign the state anthem with new melodies and expressions. He described Andesri as a literary pillar of Telangana and called his death an irreparable loss.
The Chief Minister noted that Andesri’s efforts in awakening the spirit of Telangana and supporting the statehood movement would always be remembered. He offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the poet’s soul to rest in peace.
