Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar, two prominent faces of Bihar’s politics, have seen many ups and downs in their careers. In their early days, they fought their first major election, each facing different challenges.
Lalu, hailing from the rural area of Phulwari Sharif, was once a student leader in Patna University. He had his first taste of politics when he fought the student union election. He lost, but this loss pushed him into serious politics. His drive to help others led him to join the socialist party. Later, he ran for various political positions and became a key player in Bihar’s politics.
On the other hand, Nitish Kumar came from a small village. He had an engineering background and took a different path to politics. Nitish was part of a student group that opposed the Congress. Over time, he gained respect and support. He also entered politics, where his friends helped him win important elections. His first victory in student politics made him a key player in Bihar.
In the 1970s, Lalu struggled but returned stronger, while Nitish’s rise showed steady progress.
