US President Donald Trump has filed a $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times, accusing it of spreading lies for decades. He called the newspaper a “mouthpiece for the Radical Left Democrat Party.”
Trump announced the lawsuit on X, claiming the Times’ endorsement of Kamala Harris, his Democratic rival, was “the single largest illegal campaign contribution ever.” He alleged the paper attacked him, his family, his business, and the MAGA movement.
The Republican leader compared the Times to ABC and CBS. He said both networks settled lawsuits with him after they “smeared” him through false reporting. According to Trump, those settlements supported his planned Trump Library.
“The New York Times has smeared me for far too long. That stops now,” Trump declared. He confirmed that the case will be filed in Florida.
This lawsuit marks the latest chapter in Trump’s ongoing war with major US media houses. He maintains that their reporting is biased, politically motivated, and defamatory.
