In Muzaffarpur district, a revenue office staff member demanded money from a farmer. He asked for ₹8,000 to remove the farmer’s land from a blocked list. The farmer refused to stay silent and informed vigilance officials.
The vigilance team planned a trap and caught the official while he was taking the bribe. Officers recovered the cash on the spot. The accused was arrested immediately.
In a separate case in East Champaran’s Motihari, an Anganwadi-related supervisor demanded ₹4,000. The money was allegedly sought to clear official work. Vigilance officers reached the office and caught the supervisor during the transaction.
Both accused were taken to Patna for questioning. Legal action has started against them.
Officials said these arrests send a clear warning. Even small bribes will not be ignored. Vigilance teams will continue strict monitoring to protect citizens from corruption.
