Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a special two-day Assembly session to celebrate 25 years of the state’s formation. The session aims to highlight the state’s development journey and achievements since 2000. The exact dates will be announced soon.

Uttarakhand was created on November 9, 2000, from northern Uttar Pradesh and was initially called Uttaranchal. It was renamed Uttarakhand in 2007. The new hill state was formed after years of activism by local residents seeking development and preservation of their cultural identity.

CM Dhami emphasized the government’s focus on youth and employment generation. Over the past four years, more than 25,000 jobs were provided, and efforts continue to ensure transparent recruitment exams. A recent exam was cancelled after a complaint, and the process will be closely monitored.

The Chief Minister also highlighted improvements in health and cooperative sectors. Government hospitals now offer 207 free pathological tests, ensuring affordable care. Cooperative bank membership has tripled, deposits rose to Rs 16,000 crore, and the MSP of Mandwa grain increased from Rs 42.90 to Rs 48.86 per kg.
